Anikia Nelson, MD

I’m Dr. Anikia Nelson, a mother, pediatrician, prenatal yoga teacher, and doula-in-training.

Throughout my three pregnancies, I experienced firsthand the gap between the care Black women should receive and what we too often endure, no matter our education or income.

Through Birthright Circle, I guide Black mothers through every part of their reproductive journeys. I offer personalized yoga workshops, evidence-based insights, and community-centered care for women who are:

  • Trying to conceive

  • Pregnant

  • Postpartum

  • Healing after miscarriage

My approach blends medical expertise with culturally rooted wellness, helping Black moms manage stress, regulate nervous system health, and reduce isolation, so they can navigate the healthcare system with more ease and confidence to get the care we deserve.

What’s Coming in 2027

  • Birth doula support, so you’re supported throughout pregnancy, labor and delivery.

  • Postpartum doula support, so you’re cared for throughout the fourth trimester.

  • Lactation support, so you can feed your baby with support that's evidence-based and free of judgment.

  • Childbirth education, so you understand your options before you have to choose.
